WEFTEC 2009 Media Roundtable
More than a dozen representatives from water utilities across the world participated.

Black & Veatch launched its series of reuse roundtable discussions on 12 October 2009 at WEFTEC.09 in Orlando, Florida. The company hosted and moderated the roundtable event with Robert Glennon, a renowned author and law professor, as keynote speaker. More than a dozen representatives from water utilities across the world participated in the roundtable.

“We made a decision very early on that we weren’t going to sugar-coat this.”
WEFTEC Participant
Glennon outlined problems and solutions to prevent America’s water crisis from becoming a catastrophe, like business as usual, water alchemists, desalination, conservation, price signals, reallocation and reuse. Those comments led to a lively discussion about a wide range of options to promote reuse as an alternate water source in an integrated water portfolio
